May 6, 2020 update;
Dear Patients of Williams Lake Smiles,
Spring is starting to arrive here in the beautiful Cariboo! The sun has been shining and leaves are starting to bud on the trees. Hopefully the signs of spring will bring movement back to some normal aspects of our lives. It will be a new normal, but we are here to help you in maintaining your best overall health as we all transition into that.
At our Williams Lake Smiles clinic, the health and safety of our entire community is our primary concern in all we do. As a team we have been working to improve our clinic’s already high standard of care, equipment, and knowledge during this unprecedented time of the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic.
When you return to our clinic you will immediately notice some changes. Prior to any visits, our front desk staff will go through a new protocol which includes both telephone and email questionnaires to screen for any symptoms that could require postponement of dental treatment. We are modifying our bookings to allow more time between appointments and limit the amount of patients in the office at one time. We will be asking you to limit any “extra” people at your appointments – no spouses, children, or parents along with a patient whenever possible.
When you arrive for appointments, we will ask you to remain in your vehicle until your scheduled appointment time to limit people in our waiting room to one at a time, if at all. We will ask you to immediately use the provided hand sanitizer and put on bootie shoe covers and we will check your temperature with our contactless forehead thermometer.
We have removed all magazines and paper reading material from our waiting room. We have also installed high glass separators between our waiting room and the front desk area and introduced a “tap’ option for credit and debit card payments.
At the start of appointments we will be providing a pre-procedure mouth rinse to all patients. This, in addition to the new state of the art HEPA air filtration system we have had installed, will ensure that we are further limiting circulation of any aerosols or particles.
At Williams Lake Smiles, we have always been extremely diligent about infection control. Given the current situation, we have increased this even further. You can expect to see our staff wearing more extensive Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the near future as we learn more about the COVID-19/coronavirus. This is for your protection as well as ours. Our clinic has been able to acquire that necessary PPE to allow us to start seeing our patients that are needing urgent care. If you are experiencing a toothache or concern, please give us a call.
We look forward to being able to return to our full dental care very soon. Good oral health is a key factor in maintaining your overall health and making you stronger in all you encounter.
Please be well and take care of yourselves in this difficult time.
Everyone can do their part to slow COVID-19.
