Veneers and Dental Bonding

Cosmetic Dentistry is all about giving you the smile of your dreams. That is why we specialize in smile makeovers at Williams Lake Smiles. The first step in getting your smile makeover is meeting with Dr. Wassenaar and telling him what you are looking for. That way, he can develop a strategy to create the smile you want.

Making your smile look as good as possible means improving the parts of your smile that you are dissatisfied with. Your smile makeover is designed by Dr. Wassenaar to improve one or more of the following features of your teeth: shape, size, condition, color, position, or alignment.

Two common smile restoration techniques that are often part of a smile makeover are veneers and composite bonding. Of course, these are only a couple of the cosmetic services we provide. It is best to meet with Dr. Wassenaar to get a complete picture of all your smile makeover options.

Veneers

Veneers are thin layers or “shells” that Dr. Wassenaar bonds to the front of your teeth using special dental adhesive. Veneers are custom-crafted to seamlessly match the color and shape of your smile. Veneers can restore smiles with the following issues:

  • Chipped teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Teeth with uneven surfaces (craters or bulges)
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Severely stained teeth that resist whitening treatment
  • Broken or worn down teeth

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is another cosmetic treatment offered by Dr. Wassenaar to enhance your smile. Bonding is a technique that uses composite resin to treat chipped, gapped, or irregularly-shaped teeth. This procedure can often be performed in just one dental office visit.

Here is how composite bonding works: First, Dr. Wassenaar will select the perfect shade to match the color of your teeth. Then he will slightly etch the surface of the tooth and coat it with a conditioning liquid. This will help the bonding adhere to the tooth. Next, Dr. Wassenaar will apply the resin, which has the consistency of putty. The resin will then be hardened using ultraviolet light and you will be good to go.
